lenovo 3000 c200 not printing black text to canon mp600

Hi this is my first post.

I have had a Lenovo 3000 c200 8922 a26 for about 2 1/2 years that I have had no trouble with until I connected a Canon mp600 multifunction center. I cannot get the printer to print black text. When it prints test sheets it will print color graphics but no text. A text only document will give a blank sheet. The laptop will print normally on an older Canon BJC-2100SP

I also have a built up desktop unit running Ubuntu 8.04. The MP600 functions normally when connected to the desktop unit, it will also print correct copies from the scanner unit.

I was running Debian Lenny on the Lenovo but when this problem occured I installed Windows XP Pro. All the updates from Microsoft have been installed and the latest driver from Canon Aust. (mp600win111ea23.exe). I have upgraded the BIOS to 63ET62WW v1.08.

Attempting to print from the laptop to the desktop will give the same error, also the same when printing in the reverse direction.

I feel I am missing something but have run out of ideas. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've reinstalled XP on a T43p, downloading all the drivers from the lenovo site. However, despite 6 or 7 re-installs, the driver for the wireless card will not satisfy XP. Interestingly, the driver on the lenovo site (7ywcc54ww.exe) is stated as being 6,220,416 in size - but the link downloads a file of the same name, but at 6075 kb in size.

Either way - I am unable to use the wireless card. I have run the exectuable and it creates a folder.....

C:\Drivers\Win\Wllanath. I have run setup from this folder; I have updated the drivers (pointing to this folder) from device manager; I have done it forwards, backwards, upside down................

Still no wireless. It's now 01:30 am and I'm knackerd !!

Can anyone help please ? I really really need this wireless card to work.

IBM ThinkPad T43p 2668 -F8G

Thanks in anticipation, hope and praying :robothappy:

U330 not connecting to bluetooth mouse

I have an Ideapad U330 running Vista 32bit that I got back in March 2009. Everything has worked fine until lately. I just got a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and I tried to connect it to the U330. The bluetooth is enabled, the drivers are up to date, but it's not seeing the mouse. I've tried the add device tool, looked in the device manager, but there's nothing listed for the mouse. I looked for drivers for the mouse on Microsoft's website, but they don't list any. I've never connected a bluetooth device to this laptop before, so I have no frame of reference. I'm at a total loss.

been looking around the website for an email and havent really found one, all i found was phone numbers and this forum which neither have worked for me to get help with my Lenovo Y650.

I posted on here over a week ago about my problem and no one has answered me and called Lenovo UK yesterday and talked to a guy that put me on hold 2 times and kept me on the line for 30 min and all he suggested was to re install over and over, hold the power key while no power is connected to refresh, then turn off my firewall and antivirus, then blamed that it was a software issue while it ran perfectly on my HP laptop.

so now i want to know a third method so i can hopely be satisfied with the laptop i bought.

so anyone know an email to any good technical support person?

Thank You.

Is it possible to set up a lenovo (m57p) to dual boot, which means adding another disk partition, and still retain the recovery (which lives in its own partition) function? If anyone has done this I would welcome any clues how to do it, current OS is vista and I need to add W2K.

Seriously annoying WiFi issues (T43, intel A/B/G)

So I have a love for thinkpads.

Most of the time.

I like using them, like the hardware, don't like dealing with the software.

I've grown in fact, to loath having to do an install on one.

Mostly it's because it can be such a PITA to dig through the Lenovo site trying to find the most recent drivers for your machine, but occasionally I find other issues.

This is my second thinkpad I've had that worked, to call my own. Same spec as my first one, which was unfortunately stolen a couple weeks after I finished upgrading everything in it.

1.86Ghz T43, 128 meg x300, 2 gigs RAM, pitifully small 40 gig hard drive. And the wireless a/b/g.

Oh the wireless, how much trouble you have caused.

First off, there's the deceivingly simple act of trying to find drivers. I got them though, and installed them.

Great, I've installed the relatively useless intel utility. Where's the card? Nobody knows.

Fine. Do some digging and manually install the driver. Does the intel utility work now? No. Oh well, I wasn't planning on using that anyhow.

The windows tool works fine for me.

Except it doesn't. I can scan, and every one out of three attempts, it shows me all the networks in my area. Which includes my own network, broadcasting on the unused channel 4 in WPA-PSK from 2' away from me. Cool, I have a full single, as I should. Double click, type in my passphrase and now does it connect? No.

The thinkpad sits there and starts to connect, than drops out. Starts to connect, than drops out. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Wonderful. Cue my exhasperated and under my breath cursing, and a reinstall of the driver. Still won't work. Install a different one, one from intel, one from the web. None of them work. Three hours in and I've pounded a nice dent into the metal side of my desk from sheer frustration. I decide screw it, I'll live with the old pcmcia 100mw 802.11b card sticking out the side of my machine.

Slap it in, it installs, and picks up my network

Brilliant! It works-oh wait.

It's still doing the same thing.

We tune in, and we drop out. One loud shout later and another wireless card is slapped in. A D-Link this time. It's yet to have failed me. Install it and it's annoying tools. Reboot and try to connect. Finally, at long last after wasting several hours in which I intended to spend with some good friends of mine, It looks like it's about to connect.

Or not. Same story as the last. Starts to connect, drops out.

I assume at this point, there's something very wrong going on here, as I was just using that card with another laptop. Shove it back in and it works fine. So does the other one for that matter. And if I slap that minipci a/b/g 2950 into another machine, and install the driver, it works fine too!

So tell me Lenovo, what on earth is wrong with my machine?
I used a Lenovo/IBM OEM install disc. I installed all your oh-so-special drivers. Why won't it work? Why have I wasted the past 4 hours now slamming my face into a brick wall?
I've ruled out any other factors. My network is working fine for 5 other wireless devices, and 3 other PCs on it. I certainly haven't forgotten my WPA passphrase. Or mistyped it innumerable times in a row. So really. Wot's uh the deal?

Oh and before I forget, Kudos on the improvements to the fingerprint software. A big part of the reason I'm moving away from the fujitsu I've been using the past few months. That, combined with the trackpoint, high res screen and sturdy build are what make me forgive all the software-akwardness.

/rant.

TL;DR:
My wireless is bork'd and I can't fix it D:

Halp! It won't connect D:

Hi, I searched all over the site and did not find a solution so I apologize if this has been gone over before.

I have a T500 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I downloaded and installed RnR ver 4.3 and then went to run. The program created rescue media using a DVD burner no problem, but WILL NOT begin a backup to an external hard drive. I set the options to backup to the external USB drive, made sure the drive had plenty of space, etc... and when the program goes to start the backup nothing happens. I have left it for MANY hours to see if time was the problem, and still nothing.

Anyone else experience this and how to fix?

T500 - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD

Thanks for any responses,

Clay

T60 Buying Advice

Hello Everyone,

My old IBM A30 is on the verge of dying and I was thinking/planning on buying a T60. I am planning on having a 15 inch, 1.66-2.00GHZ processor, 1GB RAM, 128mb graphics card, and a 60-100GB Hard Drive, probably with XP Pro. Are there any problems that I should be aware of with this series/configuration? Anything at all that I should know? Any comments and advice would be much appreciated. I was also wondering if Windows 7 is a good idea?

Thanks

I have purchased and am ready to install Windows 7 Professional on my Y530. I have only seen 32 bit drivers on the website though.

Will there be or are there any 64 bit drivers for Windows 7?

I have purchased Windows 7 Professional x64 and am ready to install it on my Y530 laptop. So far the downloads page only has 32bit drivers for download.

Are there or will there be 64 bit specific drivers?

What does the 'p' of a model T43p signify please?

Is there much difference between a T42 and a T43?

Are T42/3 machines well thought of, or is an X6_ _ series better/ more reliable?

Thank you kindly,

Jason.

Well what do you know? Invalid Product Key !

Finally got my Windows 7 Upgrade discs (2) with the mail. I was entitled to one, since my T500 came with Vista Business x64. Decided to give it a go and install on my Lenovo T500.

Now I'm stuck at the Product Key prompt from its installer!

I tried filling in the code that was on the CD-sleeve, it clearly says Product Key, so that should be it, right? Well NOT, I get a Product Key invalid thing and I'm back where I was.

So I tried the Product Key for Vista that is on the backside of my T500, same thing: A no go!

Now I have to find a hard way to get my old booting XP x86 version back online.

So, because you're causing me to lose so much time over this bull**bleep** idea: **bleep** YOU LENOVO!

Can't even get their Product Keys right. And yes, I thoroughly checked the digits and characters, I didn't type them wrong.
