IBM S50 8183--1962 no os found

HI ...
I have a THINKCENTER S50 and I get the dreaded 1962 no os found when i start the PC up. I sm able to access the BIOS and go to the SYSTEM menu. Despite the HD and DVD-ROM connected properly... the system bios detects NO HD and NO DVD-ROM.
Help..........someone!!!!!!!!

Hi' try taping F12 while booting and if you see the hard drive, select the drive and punch enter, see what happens if that does't work check the jumpers on the drives

Swap out the IDE/SATA cable. Check the jumpers on the HDD and CD/DVD-Rom. If you still cannot get it to work, grab a spare HDD and/or CD/DVD-Rom and try to use that. If it still doesn't work your controller on the board is screwed, aka: you are screwed...

I discovered that the DVD IDE connection is dead so I'm using just the hard drive with the OS loaded.
Thanks for your help.......couldn't hve solved it on my own!!!!!!
