IdeaPad Y and U series Laptops

Is there some sort of hold up on the red S10s?  I haven't heard of any of them shipping.  I ordered in the first few hours on 8-19 and my red still shows an estimated ship date of 10-21.

Update: Just called and the rep said that none of the orders from the August "preorder promotion" have shipped and they're currently waiting for new shipment from the mfgr. She claimed that there are NO S10's currently available so anybody that says they ordered last week and received it already must be pulling our collective leg.

So I guess it's a case of who do you believe....

If none of the August ones shipped, and none of the post-August ones shipped, then where are these people getting their laptops from?  This is some kind of mass ruse that at least 50 people are taking part in?

Good question. Lenovo dropped the ball on this one.

At any rate, I've decided to cancel and buy a different netbook. I needed this unit for my business and can't wait any longer.

I ordered a Lenovo y730 on 9/21 so if it doesn't come in 3 weeks, I'm gonig to cancel my order.

Have any red S10s shipped yet?  I haven't seen anyone say they've gotten a red.  When I ordered on 8-19, it was noted that the black ones would ship a bit later than the whites and reds.  However, both whites and blacks are shipping now.

Is there an availiability problem with the reds?  Should I cancel my order and re-order a white one?

What's going on with shipping?

I called this morning to find out about the S10 I'd ordered at 9:30 am on Aug 19th - the day they went on sale.  I now have an estimated ship date of 10-24.  That's over 2 months after ordering, though I did know there would be a delay until 9-9. 

Got disgusted and cancelled the order.  Thought about things for a while and re-ordered.  Just got a shipping notice on the order I put in just a few hours ago.  These definitely are not shipping in order, unless the order is LIFO - Last In, First Out.

Edited: Just to be clear - I originally ordered a red.  I re-ordered a white. When I cancelled the order  I was told *for the first time* that the reds were not shipping. That there now was a 50 day turn around time on them. I'd been asking specificially before about the reds and had been told over and over that there was no problem with the reds shipping - that they would ship whenever the other S10s starting shipping.

Just cancelled mine too but I won't be reording. There are better deals out there now...

Amazing story there Grouch.  They really are working backwards.

   I just visted the Lenovo website and saw they added a few models to the Y730 line.  Strange thing is they newer models have shorter ship dates than the originals.  When I ordered it was 2-3 weeks for them but the newer ones are 3-5 days !!??  and 1-2 weeks.

 I ordered a Y730 on 9/5  with estimated ship date of 10/3 so I still have a few days.    Maybe I should cancel and order again.  sheesh.
