Got my new G550 laptop and found the webcam quality is really poor (works like $1 webcam)....is this the issue with the laptop or this is what everyone gets with this laptop. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

This is 0.3 mega pixel webcam that is configured on all value line systems.this is why paid lower money.
you should not expect higher than this configuration cause this is a value line in a business way and this is not made for day to day chatting.
