I'm tired and angry at lenovo so i thought i'd add some fuel to the fire and say...
I've already stopped my dad's company from purchasing Lenovo products and there's another company I'm in touch with (reaching over 1000's of employees) that i'm convincing NOT to purchase Lenovo products. It doesn't solve my or others' problems... but it makes me feel better ![]()
Perhaps someone at lenovo reads this and thinks.. geez... loosing money on a few dosen service calls to replace motherboards... vs... loosing 100's of NEW sales AND sales LEADS... boy!.. we're making the right decision to screw our loyal customers... who needs new sales and sales leads...
At least we can get our revenge by sharing our lovely experience with Lenovo and their treatment of customers... argh!
The true measure of a good company is not how good their products are, but how they react when the s#it hits the fan. Lenovo = fail. What's worse.. i really WANT to like the company.
---------------
On a side note, for those of you in the EU - I just googled around (only a minute or so) and found that perhaps there ia an "EU consummer protection" divisions that may be able to help those that aren't getting warranty support? I know what doors to kick down in USA, but i'm not sure what agencies are there in Europe. I strongly urge those of you that are not getting their warranty honored, to keep up the fight, and try all possible avenues. Don't give up. Also, keep a record of ALL your conversations, emails, phone calls, discussions... names, times, dates, etc relating to your problem. Everyone you talked to at Lenovo, the repair shop, warranty place, etc etc. Keeping a record like this may prove VERY valuable later on. (hint hint). Time for bed before my blood pressure goes up.

For me, I'm going to turn my T61 in for this problem for my first time next week or so when I find I replacement laptop.
Lenovo do has this chance to make it right by:
1. Not just saying it's already working correctly
2. Fix the problem.. I mean fix it for real.
Then its all OK for me since I do not have any other issues with the computer or the company.

I would suggest strongly against Dell; we had a fair amount of quality issues with ours (including the very same audio issue - it used the very same chipset) and if you need further evidence, do a Google search for dell "self-destruct button" and see what teh Intarwebs have to say on the matter.

Well, I just found something interesting while looking for an Active Protection driver for Windows 7...
Anyone notice anything missing? Yup, no updated driver for our (likely) problem children, the Quadro FX 570M and the SoundMax.
Lenovo guys - any word on when we might get one? Pretty please?? I've "fixed" the isue by means of making sure my GPU and CPU are not at 100% utilization when I want audio... but this is hardly acceptable!

Try looking on the actual drivers downloads page for the T61, I see a Windows 7 driver set for the Quadro 570 here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen
Also, you can use System Update 4.
Does this help?

Great news on my end!
When the screen was off and audio was playing, the sound would stutter as soon as the LCD was brought back to life; I believe that this has now been resolved!
The issue on my end was the fact that the wireless card was defective. Upon its replacement, all stutter related issues were solved. That coupled with Windows 7 Ultimate, with nVidia 195.39 ForceWare drivers, I do not hear any more stutterring.
Now, the only issue I have is when I start up the computer, after the BIOS has flashed on by, there is a really really LONG black screen pause (15 seconds), followed by a blinking cursor for 5 seconds, then it proceeds to boot to Windows. Has anyone been having this issue? I use a non-OEM HDD with no ThinkVantage utility partition. Could that be the issue?
Thank you,
Kamika007z

It's interesting Kamika007z... but why can't we just turn off wireless adapter in device manager to get rid of audio stuttering? In my case disabling WiFi card doesn't change the situation. I have warranty, so I can't just plug off my WiFi card physically from laptop.
OK, maybe this is really more complicated hardware problem caused by (even disabled) WiFi card, but users who have warranty have to wait for Lenovo's opinion - without it services won't replace WiFi cards I think...

Mark, Kuba, et al:
I think the best place to start is for Lenovo to actually believe us when we say "we have a problem." The problem may be different things for each user that all end up resulting to be same which is: audio stutter.
Once Lenovo is willing to work with each person, and I mean really work with the person, they need to secondly replace the board to the LATEST revision. The tech really needs to do his or her homework and identify what the latest revision is and not just slap-in what they have lying on their shelves, replace the board, then test for stutterring. If that does not work, replace the memory, then the wireless card, and so forth....
Kuba and Mark, I emplore you two to work together one on one, get on the phone if need be, in order to getting closer to the issue, and once and for all, solve it.
But again, the first step is to actually believe the customer that they are having this issue, because, honestly, the customer is ALWAYS right. So if they are experiencing audio stuttering, have them send it to you, get on the phone, and make sure both the tech and the client is seeing eye to eye on the issue, and take it from there.
Best,
John

You're right Kamika007z, Lenovo should cooperate with us... This should be obvious...
But I'm ready! I'm ready since last few months.... unfortunately, we have a small problem - Lenovo is still not :/
Hihi in this moment I want to ask "where the hell is Mark?" ![]()

count me as one who installed 195.55 drivers and no longer has the stuttering issue when reactivating the screen when it is off.
that's what bothered me the most - i haven't been paying too much attention to the tiny little stutters, but i can only imagine it is incredibly bothersome for those who do audio editing.
