Here a short description of my problem with the rack server I ordered
This concerns the Lenovo Thinkserver RD120 model 6445-12U
The server order included
“84978EE Microsoft® Windows® SBS 2008 Standard ROK for Lenovo ThinkServer”
The server has 6 GB memory
2x HS Sata 500 GB on Build in RAID Controller (Raid 1)
2 x Intel® Xeon® E5205 processor
The server was also shipped with the Lenovo easystartup 1.0 DVD which provides an integrated setup for the server operating system.
The problem I’m experiencing is that the Lenovo Easystartup 1.0 DVD does not support the MS Windows 2008 SBS std.
( I have tried the “windows 2008 std 64x” and it does not work)
The “84978EE Microsoft® Windows® SBS 2008 Standard ROK” does also not want to load as a manual install with booting from DVD
After copying files it goes in an endless reboot cycle without ever booting from Harddrive (Raid array)
I downloaded the new easystart 1.1 DVD from the lenovo support website which supposedly supports the Windows 2008 SBS installation, but after booting from it, it shows that it is not supporting this model of server ?
I also tried partitioning and formatting beforehand with 3rd party software but the problem persits
(partitioning and formating works)
I tried loading a Windows 2008 Server Std 64 DVD from another Lenovo server and it works with no problem, Just 2008 Small Business Std will not load.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated
Thanks
Anton
