Extra SAS/SATA Backplane for TD100 (4 Port)

Hi

I have a TD100 server which has a 4 port simple swap backplane, however there appears to be space for 4 more drives above this space, however there is no backplane for these.

I was wondering if anyone new if 41Y9078 is the correct part for this?

Your help is greatly appreciated,

Many Thanks

Re: Extra SAS/SATA Backplane for TD100 (4 Port)

welcome to the forum!

looking at the current HMM, 41Y9078 appears to be the backplane you already have.   i don't see one with eight available slots, only four.

the only other backplane shown is for SAS drives.   it might connect in the void on your current backplane but i don't know if this is the case or if this is a unified SAS plane and allows SATA drives to be connected.

i suggest calling lenovo support or your ThinkServer reseller as they should have information about these parts and whether or not a new or additional backplane can be added.

Re: Extra SAS/SATA Backplane for TD100 (4 Port)

H

Simple Swap backplane is always only for 4 HDDs. HotSwap SAS/SATA can be for 4 or 8 HDDs.

There is a PN to expand 4HDD HotSwap to 8HDD HotSwap. And as nothing like this is officially possible for SimpleSwap

I think another SimpleSwap backplane will not fit inside.
