Every time when I turn on my computer, there is an error message

“Fixed disk 0;WDC
Mouse initialized
Atapi CD-ROM
Error system config date updated
Error 0271 - check date & time setting
Error 0162 – configuration error, default config used
F1 setup F2 resume"

Is there any problem with my computer, how do I solve this ?

Second issue is that suddenly now there is no music or sound coming out from my external speaker, only music & sound from the computer internal speaker
How do I solve this ?

noanswer,welcome to the forum,

the first part of your post will most likely be solved by renewing the BIOS battery (aka CMOS or Backup battery).

It would be helpful if you could post which system and Operating System you have, even better post the Type and Model Number this will help members to help you. If it ends in CTO please provide some details about the system. Please do NOT post your s/n.

Hi Andy,

I have replace the lithium‘s battery but I now have this error when I ON the computer

Video DIOS Shadowed 

 “Fixed disk 0: WDC                                                                                                                                  
Mouse initialized
Atapi CD-ROM                                                                                                                               

Printer  security : keyboard is locked

Error 0232 – Extended RAM failed at offset : ID                                                                                              

Error 0162 – Config error – default config used
Error 0198 – System security – unauthorized BIOS update attempted
F1 setup F2 resume"

If I pressed F2, this is what I got on the screen

“Booting from harddisk device                                                                                                               

System security : user password required                                                                                         

Type your password then press enter”   

I don’t know what password so I just press enter then the screen shown

System disabled

I can’t even log into my computer now

What should I do ?

try to activate the clr jumper on your motherboard, this will clear your motherboard bios information. 

Also you posted this problem in the wrong section, this is a thinkvision (LCD displays) and not the Thinkcentre section. 

Where did you get this computer, did you get it new or second hand?
