I have been using Win7 on my W500 for a few days now. I manually installed the switchable graphics driver after issues, and the gpu drivers are installed properly. But I have found the Intel gpu driver drives the fan far more than the Vista version. I assume it is creating a lot more heat? Anyone else have that issue? I use the ATI driver now in preference- it runs much cooler than the Intel, which is the reverse to with the Vista drivers, and to what one would expect.

One possible explanation may be that the Intel graphics core is located in the same chip as the CPU core. Therefore that single chip would run hotter due to the combined heat. The ATI chip may be separate and therefore not running as hot.
