I recently did an in-place upgrade from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit on my Lenovo T61p. I also updated all the Thinkvantage drivers and software and have been checking daily for additional updates. Following the upgrade I noticed that the trackpad is not working properly. When I'm typing an email message in Outlook 2007, the trackpad and buttons will not work in the body of the message. I can click on the icons in the ribbon, but nothing works in the body of the message. Same behaviour in MSWord 2007 and Excel 2007. I uninstalled and re-installed both the Ultranav drivers and software utility, using the Windows 7 32 bit versions posted on the Lenovo website, without any improvement.
I contacted Microsoft technical support and spent an hour on the phone with a Windows 7 technician. He concluded that the problem was with the trackpad driver and was Lenovo's responsibility to address. I then contacted Lenovo technical support and the technician said there was nothing he could do to help me. Disappointing response from both organizations. I've reverted back to the Windows PS2 mouse driver for the time being.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

First for the lenovo driver problem. Just go to the lenovo website-->support and download session. Here you can find all the drivers you need for window 7 (x64 or x32). Specifically for your problem you have to install the ultranav utility and ultranav driver for window 7.
Secondly for you mouse problme in MS office, apparently the problem lies in the thinkvintage password manager. It is easy to solve. Just go into the password mamager-->set preference-->unticke the box in enable hot keys. Then restart yr computer...mouse should work now in MS office

In fact, the problem could be due to the installation of Client Security Solution 8.3 for Windows 7 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen

Thanks for the responses. It sounds like CSS 8.3 is the culprit as I installed this software as part of the upgrade to Windows 7. I'm surprised that this problem wasn't found during testing as a lot of people must be using the combination of Windows 7, CSS 8.3 and MS Office 2007.
