My WIndows Seven disc is taking too long to get here and their customer service has been far from satsifactory, so I'm considering just downloading it from the stuent discount thing. I have a couple questions:
I have Vista 32 bit and I'm planning on doing a clean install to WIndows Seven via downloading it from the student discount.
1. At the moment I only have 1 gig of RAM, I have another gig ordered, but it's taking its sweet time getting here too. If I was up upgrade to Seven with a clean install, and then put that extra 1 gig of RAM in which would now give me two gigs a few days later, would that mess anything up? My mom is dead sure that with only 1 gig of RAM that it won't upgrade right.
2. I've been reading a few things about people that have upgraded the 3000 N100 modelds having problems with the sound not working. Have working sound drivers or what not been added to the lenovo system update yet?
thanks to anyone who answers

Hi Sector Star! I have just fresh-installed Win 7 on a 3000 N100 with 1 GB RAM without any problems beside missing my Lenovo Care functions. I thought that a System Update file could be downloaded from Lenovo.com "Support & Downloads" but I can't find this facility for Lenovo 3000 N 100 0768-FFG.
Regarding your question about sound problems I have not experienced any problems so far.
Could anyone help me with reinstalling Lenovo Care incl. Rescue and Recovery eventually by downloading the appropriate System Update tool for exactly my pc?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for shedding some light on that! And about the Lenovo care stuff, I do recall after running the Windows Seven Upgrade Advisor that it said many of those Lenovo Care things weren't compaditble with Seven at the moment. But, it's not a big deal for me, because other then the lenovo system update, I never even used most of those care programs
