Z60m monitor problem: dark gradients banding

I must've installed an update in the past month that screwed something up. Dark gradients on my screen are always banded, but any light colored gradients are perfectly fine.

 

I rolled back to ATI Radeon x600 8.1, to 8.3, and back to 8.5 which i had when i noticed the problem. I don't know how to resolve this.

 

I have my color set to 32bit.

 

If anybody has suggestions please help!

That looks like a broken LCD...download dead pixel buddy and post a couple of links displaying single colours...
